9:21 Arise, O Lord, let not man be strengthened: * let the Gentiles be judged in thy sight. 9:21 Exsúrge, Dómine, non confortétur homo: * iudicéntur Gentes in conspéctu tuo.

9:23 Whilst the wicked man is proud, the poor is set on fire: * they are caught in the counsels which they devise. 9:23 Dum supérbit ímpius, incénditur pauper: * comprehendúntur in consíliis quibus cógitant.
9:24 For the sinner is praised in the desires of his soul: * and the unjust man is blessed. 9:24 Quóniam laudátur peccátor in desidériis ánimæ suæ: * et iníquus benedícitur.
9:25 The sinner hath provoked the Lord, * according to the multitude of his wrath he will not seek him. 9:25 Exacerbávit Dóminum peccátor, * secúndum multitúdinem iræ suæ non quæret.
9:26 God is not before his eyes: * his ways are filthy at all times. 9:26 Non est Deus in conspéctu eius: * inquinátæ sunt viæ illíus in omni témpore.
9:27 Thy judgments are removed from his sight: * he shall rule over all his enemies. 9:27 Auferúntur iudícia tua a fácie eius: * ómnium inimicórum suórum dominábitur.
9:28 For he hath said in his heart: * I shall not be moved from generation to generation, and shall be without evil. 9:28 Dixit enim in corde suo: * Non movébor a generatióne in generatiónem sine malo.
9:29 His mouth is full of cursing, and of bitterness, and of deceit: * under his tongue are labour and sorrow. 9:29 Cuius maledictióne os plenum est, et amaritúdine, et dolo: * sub lingua eius labor et dolor.
9:30 He sitteth in ambush with the rich, in private places, * that he may kill the innocent. 9:30 Sedet in insídiis cum divítibus in occúltis: * ut interfíciat innocéntem.
9:31 His eyes are upon the poor man: * he lieth in wait, in secret, like a lion in his den. 9:31 Óculi eius in páuperem respíciunt: * insidiátur in abscóndito, quasi leo in spelúnca sua.
9:32 He lieth in ambush, that he may catch the poor man: * so catch the poor, whilst he draweth him to him. 9:32 Insidiátur ut rápiat páuperem: * rápere páuperem, dum áttrahit eum.

I remember that I have often said that, in the Holy Gospel, the Church as she now is, is called the kingdom of heaven, for the kingdom of heaven is indeed the assembly of the righteous. The Lord hath said by the mouth of His Prophet: The heaven is My throne. Isa. lxvi. 1. Solomon saith: The throne of wisdom is the soul of the righteous. And Paul saith that Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. 1 Cor. i. 24. From these passages we may clearly gather that if wisdom be God, and wisdom's throne be the soul of the righteous, and God's throne be the heaven, then the soul of the righteous is heaven. Hence also the Psalmist saith, speaking of holy preachers: The heavens declare the glory of God. xviii. 2. Saepe iam me dixisse memini, quod plerumque in sancto Evangelio regnum caelorum praesens Ecclesia nominatur: congregatio quippe iustorum, regnum caelorum dicitur. Quia enim per prophetam Dominus dicit: Caelum mihi sedes est: et Salomon ait: Anima iusti sedes sapientiae: Paulus etiam dicit Christum Dei virtutem, et Dei sapientiam: liquido colligere debemus, quia si Deus sapientia, anima autem iusti, sedes sapientiae, dum caelum dicitur sedes Dei, caelum ergo est anima iusti. Visit we beseech thee, O Lord, this dwelling, and drive far from it the snares of the enemy let thy holy angels dwell herein to preserve us in peace and let thy blessing be always upon us. Visita, quaesumus, Domine, habitationem istam, et omnes insidias inimici ab ea longe repelle: Angeli tui sancti habitent in ea, qui nos in pace custodiant; et benedictio tua sit super nos semper.
